Our site has been successfully moved to a new hosting provider. During the transition I went ahead and updated our site to the latest version of Community Server which is the software that actually "serves" the web pages and allows us to interact with each other.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
- Since we are no longer hosting our site on a dedicated server, we have less disk space allocated for us at our new hosting provider.
- What does this mean?
- Compress your photos before uploading. NO HIGH RES PICS ALLOWED!
A simple Google search on how to convert your high resolution photo to a lower resolution photo suitable for the web will turn up many free applications, some of which might already be on your computer if you installed the software that came with your camera.
- We all need to make better use of the blogs, forums, and gallery sections of the site. If you do not know how to use any of those sections, by all means ask me or someone else how to administer those areas. Every registered member should have a gallery and blog that they can add content to as well as the forums.
- If you do not have a gallery or blog and would like one, please let me know by emailng me at ken AT kenjacksondesign.com. (replace the AT with @ and take out the spaces before and after it)
Lastly, give a big hug to Mom and Dad for paying for this service. This type of site is not free and that is why most families do not have it.

Update: There is an application that I have found that syncs up with Community Server that greatly improves uploading multiple photos. I will post a tutorial on the site very soon explaining how to use it. If you can't wait, call and bug me about it.
